On October 21 there was a black bear sighted roaming the Westfield area. If you see a bear do not approach it. It is a wild animal, please leave it alone. Stay inside a building or vehicle until it leaves the area. Remember to secure any bird feeders, gas grills, garbage cans and any other food sources. Please refer to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection web site for further information about black bears.
