Board of Ed to Elect New Superintendent of Schools This Evening

The Board of Education is currently meeting in executive session to elect a new Superintendent of Schools.  The results of the four month search are expected to be announced at the 6pm meeting tonight in the Common Council chambers at City Hall.

Former Superintendent Michael Frechette resigned at the beginning of March, with Assistant Superintendent Barbara Senges following suit at
the end of the same month.

BOE Chairman Dr. Gene Nocera had previously commented on his strong desire to find a new superintendent before the end of the school year so that a new head administrator would be involved in the summer hiring process, which includes a new elementary principal and the Assistant Superindendent of Schools.
