United Way Women’s Initiative Hosting Free Financial Literacy Workshop on November 8

The Middlesex United Way Women’s Initiative is hosting a free financial literacy workshop called “Understanding Your Credit Report” on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The session will take place at Middlesex Community College in Chapman Hall. Anyone is welcome to attend.

“Understanding Your Credit Report” is a training module from Money Management International, a nonprofit credit counseling agency dedicated to providing financial education to help people improve their lives. The workshop will be facilitated by Rosa Carrero, Community Outreach Office at Liberty Bank and Women’s Initiative member.

Participants will receive a free workbook to help them on their path to financial stability. Also, the first 60 people in attendance receive a free padfolio with calculator. During the session, you will learn about:

  • Negative credit
  • Your rights in dealing with collection agencies
  • How to receive a free credit report
  • What you can do to help or hurt your credit score
Middlesex Community College is located at 100 Training Hill Road in Middletown. The workshop takes place in Chapman Hall. This workshop is sponsored by the United Way Women’s Initiative with additional support from Liberty Bank and Middlesex Community College.
