The Buttonwood Tree is back on schedule!

The Buttonwood Tree has power and the shows will go on! Thursday Bob Gotta held his OPEN MIC that's been running for over 12 years. Alden Halfinger came up from Higganum to play the drums while he and his Mom sang "America". Alden is 7 years old, and a regular Buttonwood patron. He also loves to breakdance, play chess and help his parents on their farm.

Friday night is a concert with Grammy winner, Stacy Phillips, and Paul Howard. This duo has has been around the world performing. They first performed at The Buttonwood Tree when it was on Rapallo Avenue and performed during TBT's last show at that location! They're back with more great music.

Saturday, Jazz duo of Noah Baerman and Sean Clapis perform at 8 pm. While both are now performers, Sean is a former student of Noah's and their music is well blended.

Sunday, Elizabeth Thomas returns to host the Kick off to the 2011 season of Youth Poetry Slam. All students ages 13-19 are welcome. The slam is from 3-5pm.

Pure and acoustic with a unique blend of folk and urban influences -
dobro, violin, guitar and two voices.

Stacy Phillips and Paul Howard have been groundbreaking members of the American music community for many years. The duo performs a wide range of material: Caribbean dances, Hawaiian hulas, bluegrass, swing/jazz standards, calypso and East European gypsy music – all in their authentic styles. The addition of their original compositions makes their concerts an amazing and stimulating experience. Stacy Phillips and Paul Howard have done several tours of Europe, Canada, Australia and the U.S. West Coast and have two CDs, one self-titled and the other, “Neo Urban Traditions”.

Stacy Phillips is an internationally known dobro and violin player. He has performed with Bela Fleck, David Bromberg, Mark O’Connor and others. Stacy has three solo albums and is a Grammy award winner for his dobro work.

Paul Howard is a veteran of the New England music scene. He brings an energized vocal and guitar style drawing from swing, country, jazz and pop to the duo.
