The Middlesex Academy for the Performing Arts (aka MAPA) welcomes ballerina JUSTINE SHEEDY as a member of the talented MAPA faculty. She will be teaching Introduction to Dance, Ballet and Repertory. Justine received her BFA and MFA degrees from the University of Utah Ballet Department with emphases in Teaching, Choreography, Performance, and Character Dance. She has also studied and performed with Pacific Northwest Ballet School, Washington Academy of Performing Arts, Burklyn Ballet Theatre, Utah Contemporary Ballet, and CONNetic Dance. She has enjoyed the opportunities to teach and choreograph several universities and dance studios.

Justine will begin teaching the following courses beginning the week of September 19, 2011:

Repertory Dance/Choreography
This course will expand upon dance technique into modern, contemporary, and world dance forms. Students will develop their artistry and performance quality through the introduction of various choreographic works, as well as being coached in creating their own pieces of choreography. Wednesdays 5:30-6:30

Classic Ballet
Requests for ballet at MAPA inspired our search for Justine Sheedy*, a ballerina who has performed around the world! Classical ballet offers an excellent foundation for all forms of dance through the use of core strength, correct placement, and coordination. Students will develop both barre and center work in this class, with a concentration on building poise, strength, and flexibility. Wednesdays 4:30-5:30
