Seriously, why is line item 7707 under Administration "contingency" going from $4,807 to $55,000? A 1044.16% increase? I wish they were more specific as my mill rate is slated to go up yet again for vague reasons.

An average salary of $60,000 is a little steep as well.

How did you get an average salary of $60,000? You must separate the Chiefs salaries from the firefighters because the Chiefs make much more. For a Librarian that salary WOULD be a little steep. For a firefighter it's too low.

It's not too low. There is no line item in the budget for the Chief's salary so it is all lumped into one sum. Frankly, their budget doesn't need increasing. They've managed to make cuts to virtually everything except salaries which tells me that they really didn't need all that extra money for operations to begin with. I work with budgets every day and I know how and why they're padded. I'm voting no.

To Anon. 11:26- If you have all the answers then run for Commissioner. There are dozens of complainers but few who run. Put your expertise where your mouth is!If you think you can run the department on what it has to run on now--go for it!
Yea---I thought so.
