Middletown Selected For Location of 2012 National Curling Association's Final Competition

The National Curling Association announced its selection for the location of the triennial Curling Finals on Wednesday, and many were surprised by its selection of Middletown, Ct.

"We wanted a place that was centrally located, and also one that had an area for the competition that was easily accessible." Says Heather Carren, Vice President of the National Curling Association. The "easily accessible place" they speak of has been listed as the Wesleyan University Ice Rink, which seats 1500 people. Eloise Glick, Faculty Resource Specialist at Wesleyan University, released a press comment stating "We are honored with the NCA's choice of Wesleyan University, and will be working closely with the NCA to insure the competition runs smoothly." The event hopes to draw competitors from surrounding Connecticut towns, as well as curlers in the New York City and Boston Areas.

The competition itself with run over a course of 4 days; from June 20-24th 2012. The semi-finalists will be determined by elimination, with a final round determining the winning team. Tickets cost 50$ in advance or 75$ at the door. For more information about ticket sales, how to register and more, please visit http://www.nationalcurlingassociation.com

If it was any other day of the year, I'd be tempted to believe this.
