EIGHT MIDDLETOWN RESIDENTS INDUCTED INTO NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

Eight Middletown residents have been inducted into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society during a ceremony at Middlesex Community College. Steven Kovac, Thomas Shea, Nsona Vesprey, Robert Jones, Kimberly Kennedy, Krzysztot Pawilkowski, Lisa Gsngone, and Patrick O'Connors were selected to become a part of the society based on their academic achievement and success as leaders of various organizations at MxCC. The ceremony marked the 16th year MxCC’s Beta Gamma Xi Chapter of the PTK society has been active on campus. It was the largest ceremony in the chapter’s history as 46 new students in all were inducted.

“Phi Theta Kappa is synonymous with achievement, and these students are certainly deserving of that honor,” said Dr. Jonathan M. Daube, MxCC president. “They join an impressive group of accomplished students, and are now part of the legacy of successful students who have attended our school.”

Founded in 1966 as a branch campus of Manchester Community College, Middlesex Community College (www.mxcc.commnet.edu) is an independent member of the Connecticut Community College System. The school offers more than 50 degree or certificate programs on its three locations: the main, 38-acre campus in Middletown, the downtown Meriden Center, and the shoreline in Old Saybrook. The college promotes understanding, learning, ethics, and self-discipline by encouraging critical thinking. Current enrollment exceeds 2,950 full and part-time students, and 1,600 continuing education students.
