More Pickets at Bank of America

A week ago, I posted about a solitary picket at the Bank of America branch on Main Street as part of the US Uncut protest to make people aware that Bank of America, while making huge profits, pays no income tax.

Saturday, several Connecticut unions will be picketing at Bank of America branches across Connecticut including the Main Street Middletown branch.  The public is invited to join the protest.

I am inclined to join in this picket and I feel appalled at the facts around what's going on with banking in the U.S. today. However, can someone please clarify how picketing BOA will help, if they are within the law. Meaning, isn't the problem more that they are not required to pay taxes? If that is the case, why is that so, and shouldn't we picket our reps and senators in Hartford and Washington or do something to try to reform tax law and eliminate corporate welfare? I am sure these pickets will send an important message, but as far as real change, there must be more to this story and how to make it happen.
