This Sunday at First Church: Come in from the Cold

Come in from the Cold for Worship,
Stay for Fellowship

First Church of Christ Congregational, UCC
190 Court Street
Middletown, CT

Child care is provided, and parking is available on Court Street and in the surrounding neighborhood, in public parking lots and between snowdrifts and mounds of snow.

Come worship with us at First Church this Sunday in the Parish Hall. We meet there during the coldest weeks of winter to cut our fossil fuel use, shrink our "carbon footprint," and save on heating oil costs (it costs approximately $300 every time we heat up the santuary at this time of year!), and to enjoy a more casual environment.

Reminder: Please bring $omething to put in the Soup Bowl for "Souper Bowl Sunday" contribution to St. Vincent DePaul Place. And cereals and peanut butter for Amazing Grace.

This week's sermon features: "Costumes, Alligators, & The Power of God’s Weakness: Part 2," addressing the Priestly Role — What is it? How has it evolved? Do we need it? What are its dangers? Senior Choir Anthem — Fairest Lord Jesus; SEASONAL HYMNS — Tis Winter Now, The Fallen Snow, As We Gather At Your Table, Come O Fount Of Every Blessing. Children’s Lesson — Children leave the parish hall for a brief lesson on church music before returning for the sacrament of Holy Communion.
