Police Report On BOE Arrest


From the Middletown Police Department

On November 5, 2010 at approximately 8:37 am two officers were dispatched to the Middletown Board Of Education on the report of a physical altercation.  The incident occurred between two Board of Education employees, the above accused, Haynes and the victim. The accused confronted the victim regarding a work issue, the victim attempted to leave the room when cornered.  The accused then grabbed on to the arm of the victim to prevent her from leaving. The victim had a visible injury to her arm.  The victim did not seek medical attention for her injury.  Two witnesses observed the incident.  The accused, Haynes was issued a misdemeanor summons with a promise to appear.
One of the officers sent to the call was a K-9 officer assigned to that area of the city, the K-9 was not utilized in this situation and remained in the police cruiser.  Two detectives arrived later to assist the officer with taking statements from the involved parties.

Why is Miss Haynes not fired or at least suspended? Zero tolerance?

No employees should have to work under these condiitons.
