Park and Rec Toy Drive

The 2010 Christmas Season will soon be upon us and the Middletown Recreation Department will be sponsoring its 58th Bernie O'Rourke / Detroit Hunter Memorial Christmas Toy Drive.
Our goal for this toy drive is to provide gifts for needy Middletown children. Over the past 58 years we have been able to help many working families in need of assistance.  We would like to provide two gifts to each eligible child and with your generosity; we will be able to meet our goal again. Last year we provided toys to four hundred children fifteen and under, Christmas morning.
We are asking for your financial support to ensure that each child receives a gift on Christmas morning. The Recreation Department does not receive any city funding for this toy drive. We rely on monetary donations or new gifts for children, 15 and under.
We are also hoping that maybe your business, office or church group would be interested in holding a toy drive or adopting a family. We would like all toy donations in the office by Wednesday, December 8th, 2010.
Monetary donations can be mailed to:
The Middletown Parks & Recreation Department
100 Riverview Center #140
Middletown, CT 06457
To donate new unwrapped gifts, please bring them to the Recreation Department or any of the Middletown Fire Stations.
We appreciate your generosity and continued support.  Best wishes for a joyous Holiday season.
Sincerely,
