Amazing Grace Food Pantry Ready For Opening

From the Amazing Grace Food Pantry

Yes, the pantry has moved!  With the invaluable help of hundreds of volunteers over the past two months, the renovations on our new building have been completed, everything has been moved from the old pantry to the new, all has been organized, and we are ready to open the doors to shoppers tomorrow - Nov. 1!  Quite an amazing accomplishment for two short months!

We hope you will stop by to visit the pantry's new home.  It is a remarkable change.

We've got a new plan for food delivery too.  Just drive around to the back of the building.  The small door, just past the two garage doors, is the location for food delivery. You can park right there.  In the next few days a buzzer will be installed - parts are on order - and we'll have better signage.  A volunteer will be there to assist you.  Please call the pantry's main number  - 860-347-3222 - or come around to the front door if you encounter any problems.

If the volunteer who accepts your food donation doesn't offer to give you a tour, don't be shy!  Just come on in through the enormous food storage area and into the shopping, office and waiting areas.  We do want you to see our spectacular new home and the very important services to shoppers which you help make possible.  We simply couldn't do this without every one of you.

We anticipate that there might be glitches in the food delivery process as we make this transition, so please let us know what is working and what isn't.  We count on you to help us fine-tune the process, so please be in touch.

With heartfelt thanks to all,
