Equipment check for sleep apnea CPAP machines

The Middlesex Hospital Sleep Disorders Center will sponsor a special session to check equipment and answer questions for those who use a special machine at night, called a “CPAP,” to treat sleep apnea.

The session will take place on Sunday, October 17, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the North One Conference Room on the first floor of Middlesex Hospital. No appointment or registration is necessary.

Anyone who currently uses a CPAP positive pressure airway device can get their equipment checked and have their questions answered. Attendees should bring their equipment with them to have it inspected by local vendors during the daylong session.

Local vendors will also be on hand to answer questions about how CPAP machines and masks function and about reimbursement and replacement of equipment parts and masks. New CPAP equipment will be on display. Staff members from the Middlesex Hospital Sleep Disorders Center will be available to answer questions about sleep studies and provide free pamphlets about sleep disorders.
