Hoop-A-Thon

The Middletown Cooperative Preschool, located at 24 Old Church Street, is holding its first annual “Hoop-A-Thon” on the "Green" in Middletown, directly across from the First United Methodist Church. The event will take place on Sunday, October 18th, from 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. A rain date is scheduled for the following Sunday, the 25th.

Kids of all ages plus parents and grandparents are invited to try (hula) hooping and to cheer on the preschool family members as they strive to keep as many hoops as possible in motion during the four hour event. The goal of the event is to raise funds for the school through pledges; a percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Amazing Grace Food Pantry.

Beginners are welcome; extra hoops and instruction will be available. Snacks and water will be available. Graduates of the Middletown Co-op will want to see their former teacher Mrs. Berlind as she tries to keep a hoop going for the better part of four hours.

Hooping is a light-hearted way to bring people together; kids and adults are free to be as silly as they want to be, plus it’s great exercise! For more information on hooping, see hoopnicity.com.For information about the event, call the preschool at 344-0099.
