Hoop-A-Thon On Again

The Middletown Cooperative Preschool will be holding its first annual (hula) hoop-a-thon fund raiser this Sunday, October 25, from 12 to 4 on the South Green, directly across from the First United Methodist Church. Better weather than last Sunday's nor'easter is predicted, and members and friends of the Preschool will endeavor to keep at least one hoop in motion for the entire four hours. We understand that Michelle Obama, our first lady, led a group of children in hooping in the Rose Garden this week to promote physical fitness; we follow her example.

All are welcome to stop by and try hooping; water and snacks will be available. Donations will benefit the non-profit school (founded by parents in 1968) and the Amazing Grace Food Pantry. For information, call 860 344-0099 or 860 344-0464. Visit hoopnicity.com for information on hula hooping.
