Regatta Practice

Middletown High practices for the Regatta at Harbor Park which will be held in 3 days on Sunday, October 11. The Head of the Connecticut Regatta is an annual event sponsored by the City of Middletown and presented by the Middletown Lions Club in conjunction with the Norwalk River Rowing Association and features crew teams from throughout New England.

In addition to showcasing Middletown’s waterfront, all net proceeds from the Regatta are donated to local, national, and international charitable organizations including: Nutmeg Big Brothers-Big Sisters, the FIDELCO Guide Dog Foundation, the Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation, the Lions Charities International Foundation. The annual event was first held on the Connecticut River in Middletown, CT in October, 1974 and its return in 2007 showcased many changes to present the finest HCTR in many years.

The Regatta starts at 9:30 on Sunday with the Men’s Pairs and ends at 4 pm with the Mixed Eights, a fun bonus event open to all competitors.
