Around Middletown in 80 Days: Day 11

The Buttonwood Tree
605 Main Street

Tonight Phileas is attending the opening of the Buttonwood Tree's new season with a free Hip Hop event called "Positivity" hosted by Connectbeats. It starts at 8 pm. An event celebrating hip-hop and the positive elements of the genre, which are often overshadowed by negative hip-hop or rap. Connectbeats brings a level of conscious hip-hop to the stage; bringing awareness to the world of the everyday struggle of Americans in the streets. It's an all-ages show and there is no admission charge.

The Buttonwood Tree will soon have a new website and calendar available on-line, where you can keep track of all of the music, poetry, spoken word and other community and cultural events.
