Guitarist Daniel Salazar Plays at Green Street this Friday

This event is the make-up date for Daniel's snowed-out concert last December. Come early for the potluck and then stay for a concert Hartford's own guitar virtuoso. (On a side note, I ran half a marathon with Dan a few years ago. I was part of two-person relay and he did the whole marathon--in addition to being a great guitarist he's also a great runner!)

Here are the details:

The virtuoso guitarist Daniel Salazar will venture to Wesleyan’s Green Street Arts Center for finale of the Latino Voices Series. In his continued effort to expand the guitar’s repertoire, and influenced by various musical forms, including traditional and popular Latin American music, Spanish flamenco and even American Rock, Daniel has developed a new musical style that features the classical guitar combined with an ensemble of guitars, bass, keyboards, Latin percussion and orchestral instruments. The result is an exciting, original contemporary sound which displays Salazar’s virtuosity.

Daniel Salazar will perform on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 8pm. The event begins with a potluck reception at 7:00. Tickets are $10 general admission, $8 for seniors, students, and Green Street Members. Green Street Arts Center is located at 51 Green Street, Middletown, CT. For more information, please visit: www.greenstreetartscenter.org or call (860) 685-7871.
